In its March 2026 Economic and fiscal outlook, published on 3 March 2026, the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) forecast house prices of 2.8% for 2025 and 2.4% for 2030. The forecast for 2025 is below the 2.9% the OBR forecast in November 2025 (Budget 2025). Across the forecast years the highest value is 2.9%, first in 2027, and the lowest 2.4%, first in 2026. The latest outturn in the OBR database is 0.7% for 2024.

What the OBR forecasts
The OBR's forecast here is the percentage change in average house prices on a year earlier (the ONS house price index since November 2016).
