CAPMAS estimated the population of Alexandria Governorate at 5,618,143 on 1 January 2025 (2,869,285 men and 2,748,858 women), 5.24% of Egypt's 107.27 million; 9th largest of the 27 governorates. The estimate is built from the 2017 census plus registered births and deaths since.
