North Korea: economy
1 answers, 1 from North Korea's own official bodies, with a link to each figure.
Does North Korea publish official GDP figures?
No official GDP, growth or inflation figures for North Korea (the Democratic People's Republic of Korea) were found on the official DPRK sites naenara.com.kp, kcna.kp, rodong.rep.kp and mfa.gov.kp, which returned errors or could not be reached when checked on 15 October 2026. The IMF's World Economic Outlook and the World Bank country data page publish no GDP, GDP per capita or consumer price figures for the country.
The DPRK is not a member of the IMF or the World Bank, so it does not report national accounts to them. Figures that circulate for North Korea's GDP are estimates made outside the country, not official DPRK statistics. The World Bank does republish UN agency estimates for the DPRK on population, health, energy and environment.
