North Korea: crime and justice
1 answers, 1 from North Korea's own official bodies, with a link to each figure.
Does North Korea publish crime statistics?
No official crime, homicide or prison statistics for North Korea were found on the official DPRK sites naenara.com.kp, kcna.kp, rodong.rep.kp and mfa.gov.kp, which returned errors or could not be reached when checked on 15 October 2026. The UN Office on Drugs and Crime's homicide series, republished by the World Bank, has no figure for the DPRK.
UNODC compiles homicide and criminal justice data from national authorities through an annual survey, and a country only appears in the series when it reports data or when another national source can be used. Without a reachable official source, no figure is given here.
