Mozambique: crime and justice

What is the crime rate in Mozambique?

Mozambique does not publish a regular crime statistics series online. The main official source is the Attorney General's annual information to parliament, listed on the Procuradoria-Geral da República website, which reports cases registered and prosecuted; no document was available to read there on 15 October 2026.

The most recent internationally comparable homicide figure, in the World Bank series from UN Office on Drugs and Crime data, is 3.6 per 100,000 people for 2011, which is too old to describe the current situation.
