What is the inflation rate in Dominica?
Consumer prices in Dominica rose 0.7% in 2025, measured at the end of the year, down from 1.0% in 2024 and well below an earlier projection of 3.1%, according to the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank's Economic and Financial Review (2025 update) for Dominica. Energy prices fell 2.7%, but food and non-alcoholic drinks rose 4.1%.
The bank links part of the low rate to the temporary removal of customs duties and VAT on an expanded list of essential food items, which took effect on 1 October 2025 for six months. The rate is end-of-period, comparing December with December of the year before. The bank expects inflation of 1.6% in 2026 and 2027.
