What is the unemployment rate in Sweden?
Unemployment in Sweden was 8.7% in August 2026, smoothed and seasonally adjusted, according to the labour force survey of Statistics Sweden (SCB). Eurostat's seasonally adjusted series shows 8.9% for August, and 23.0% for people under 25.
The rates follow the International Labour Organization definition: people without work who are looking for and able to start a job.
