Somalia: crime and justice
2 answers, 1 from Somalia's own official bodies, with a link to each figure.
Does Somalia publish official crime statistics?
No official crime figures, such as recorded crime, homicide or prison population counts, were found on the sites of the Somali Police Force, the Ministry of Justice or the Somalia National Bureau of Statistics, checked on 15 October 2026.
Security in much of Somalia is affected by armed conflict, and justice is delivered through federal courts, member-state courts and customary and religious systems, which makes national counting difficult. International bodies such as the UN Office on Drugs and Crime publish cross-country crime data where national figures exist.
