Regions of the Philippines: population and official figures

the Philippines is divided into 17 regions. The largest by population is CALABARZON (Region IV-A) with 16,933,234 people (15.7% of the total); the smallest is Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) with 1,808,985. Population figures are from the 2024 Census of Population of the Philippine Statistics Authority. Each region page adds output (GRDP), jobs, poverty, health, schooling and local government finance from the Philippine Statistics Authority, the Bureau of Local Government Finance and the 2022 National Demographic and Health Survey. The Negros Island Region became a separate region in 2024; figures for Western Visayas and Central Visayas say whether they include Negros.

Who governs the Philippines's regions?
