Where are Peru's crime statistics published?

Peru's official crime statistics come from three sources: crimes reported to the National Police; INEI household surveys on citizen security, which ask people whether they were victims of a crime; and prison figures from the National Penitentiary Institute.

Victimisation surveys capture crimes that are not reported to the police, so they show more crime than police records. No current figure from these sources could be read on 15 October 2026.
