Where can I find weather and flood warnings for Myanmar?
The Department of Meteorology and Hydrology publishes daily, 10-day and monthly weather forecasts, river level forecasts, and warnings for cyclones, floods, strong winds, heavy rain, low water and tsunamis on its website, mainly in Burmese.
The department also posts El Niño and La Niña outlooks, seasonal monsoon forecasts, satellite and radar images, and earthquake reports. It is the official source for warnings; local authorities issue evacuation orders.
What share of people in Myanmar have electricity?
80.4% of Myanmar's population had access to electricity in 2024, according to the World Bank's electricity access data.
The estimate counts people with any electricity supply, including solar home systems, and does not measure how many hours a day power is available. The Ministry of Electricity and Energy publishes tariffs and daily generation on its website but no access rate was found there on 15 October 2026.
