What is the poverty rate in Georgia?

7.1% of the population lived below the absolute poverty line in 2025, according to Geostat's Poverty and Gini Coefficients page. The share has fallen each year since 2020, when it was 21.3%; it was 9.4% in 2024 and 11.8% in 2023.

The absolute poverty line is based on the official subsistence minimum, the cost of a minimum food basket plus a fixed share for other needs. Geostat measures it from its Integrated Household Survey. It also publishes relative poverty, poverty at the World Bank's international lines, and the Gini coefficient on the same page.
