What is Cuba's GDP growth rate?
Cuba's real GDP fell 1.1% in 2024, after a fall of 1.9% in 2023, according to the World Bank. GDP grew 1.8% in 2022.
The World Bank series comes from Cuba's official national accounts. Cuba's National Office of Statistics and Information (ONEI), which publishes the national figures in its Statistical Yearbook, did not respond to our check on 15 October 2026. The IMF's World Economic Outlook publishes no figures for Cuba, which is not an IMF member. Cuba's multiple exchange rates make comparisons with other countries in dollar terms unreliable; growth rates at constant prices avoid that problem.
What is Cuba's GDP per capita?
Cuba's GDP per capita was US$9,605 in 2020, the latest year in the World Bank series. Total GDP was US$107.4 billion.
The dollar figures convert pesos at the official exchange rate of 1 peso per dollar used in Cuba's national accounts until 2020. After the 2021 currency unification the peso was devalued sharply, and no comparable dollar series has been published since, so the 2020 figure is not comparable with incomes measured at market exchange rates. Cuba's National Office of Statistics and Information (ONEI), which publishes the national figures in its Statistical Yearbook, did not respond to our check on 15 October 2026.
