When will the Central African Republic census results be published?
Provisional results of the fourth General Census of Population and Housing (RGPH-4) were presented to the census technical committee on 23 September 2026, according to ICASEES. It is the country's first census since 2003. ICASEES did not publish any population figure in its report, saying that the National Census Commission will make the figures public after technical review, consolidation and institutional validation.
ICASEES says the census covered 7,591 enumeration areas and mobilised more than eleven thousand people, seven of whom lost their lives. The census will be the first national count of housing conditions since 2003. The BEAC's country page still cites a population estimate of 3,895,139 based on the earlier census.
