What is Bangladesh's GDP growth rate?
Bangladesh's real GDP grew by a provisional 4.14% in fiscal year 2025-26 (July 2025 to June 2026), up from 3.49% in 2024-25, according to the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics GDP 2025-26 (provisional) tables. Agriculture grew 2.78%, industry 2.86% and services 4.59%.
Growth is measured at constant 2015-16 prices over Bangladesh's July-to-June fiscal year. The provisional estimate, released in June 2026, is revised when BBS publishes the final figure, usually early in the following year, so it can change. BBS also publishes quarterly GDP on its GDP page; the April to June 2026 quarter grew 4.60% on a year earlier.

BBS converts taka into dollars at an average of Tk122.14 per dollar for 2025-26, so changes in the exchange rate move the dollar figures as well as output does. Per capita income in Bangladesh usually refers to GNI per person, which adds income from abroad such as remittances and is higher than GDP per person. The population used is 174.8 million.

Bangladesh Bank's policy rate stood at 10.0%, according to the national budget speech for 2026-27 delivered by the Finance Minister on 11 June 2026, which says the central bank raised it in steps to contain inflation. The speech links the tight policy to slower money and private credit growth.
The policy rate is the repo rate at which Bangladesh Bank lends to banks overnight, and it guides interbank and lending rates. Decisions are announced in monetary policy statements on the Bangladesh Bank website, which showed an automated-visitor check on 15 October 2026, so a change after June could not be confirmed here. Check the latest statement before quoting the rate.

Monthly goods export figures in dollars, by product and country, are published by the Export Promotion Bureau, and Bangladesh Bank publishes the balance of payments. The budget speech says ready-made garments earn nearly 82 percent of export earnings.
