Argentina's election results
In Argentina, the National Electoral Directorate (DINE), part of the national government, organises the provisional count of votes and publishes it on its results site and API. The definitive count and the proclamation of winners are the job of the national electoral courts, overseen by the National Electoral Chamber (Cámara Nacional Electoral), which also keeps the voter register and party records.
What it publishes
- Provisional results by district, section and polling station, back to 2011.
- Definitive counts and electoral statistics from the electoral courts.
- Voter register and political party records.
Key datasets
- Election results site
Provisional results for national elections since 2011.
- Chamber of Deputies: deputies
Current deputies and party blocs.
APIs and downloads
- Results APIJSON API behind the results site, with results by election, office and district.
When it publishes
National legislative elections are held every two years, renewing half the Chamber of Deputies and a third of the Senate; presidential elections every four years.
How to use it to check a claim
- Say whether results are the provisional count or the definitive count.
- Legislative results are by province; national party totals combine different alliances.
- Turnout is voters as a share of registered electors.
Common mistakes
- Treating the provisional count as final; the definitive count can differ slightly.
Who certifies results in Argentina?
The national electoral courts carry out the definitive count; the National Electoral Chamber is the highest electoral court.
