The Department for Education asks a panel of teachers and leaders about AI several times a year. Their answers show use of generative AI among teachers growing quickly between late 2024 and late 2025.
This page quotes 6 findings from two official records by DfE, published between November 2025 and September 2026. The most recent comes from DfE in September 2026 and covers pupils.

What we left out
We only publish results that an official source reports as having happened. We leave out forecasts, targets, estimates of what AI could or may do, announced investment that has not yet happened, and findings from bodies that are not on our official sources list. How we choose what to include.
