Turkmenistan's unemployment rate was 4.6% in 2025, according to the TurkmenStat SDG platform (indicator 8.5.2). The platform gives 4.9% for men and 4.1% for women. The rate was 4.7% in each year from 2022 to 2024 and 4.8% from 2017 to 2021.
This annual series comes from the State Committee on Statistics and is separate from the 2022 census count, which found a rate of 5.4% on census day. The measure counts young people who are neither working nor studying nor training, whether or not they are looking for work, so it is wider than youth unemployment. The platform does not give a split by sex for this indicator.
