How many homes are being built in Serbia?

Serbian authorities issued 2,751 building permits in July 2026, 8.6% more than a year earlier, according to the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia (RZS). The permits cover 4,292 planned dwellings with an average floor area of 71.0 m².

Building permits show planned construction, not finished homes, and some permitted projects start late or not at all. Monthly counts can swing with a few large projects. The RZS publishes the figures each month, and separately reports on dwellings completed.

How much do houses cost in Serbia?

The Republic Geodetic Authority (RGZ) publishes Serbia's official property price figures: reports on the property market, reports for the media and property price indices, drawn from its register of property prices. The reports page could be opened on 15 October 2026, but the reports themselves are loaded in a way that could not be read, so no figure is given here.

The RGZ register records the prices in actual sales contracts, not asking prices. Its reports usually give average prices per square metre by city and type of property.
