Regions of Senegal: population and official figures

Senegal is divided into 14 regions. The largest by population is Dakar Region with 4,004,426 people (22.1% of the total); the smallest is Kédougou Region with 245,147. Population figures are the final results of the 2023 General Population and Housing Census (RGPH-5) from the Agence Nationale de la Statistique et de la Démographie (ANSD). Each region page adds jobs, housing, literacy, schooling, life expectancy and child and maternal mortality from the census reports, poverty, household consumption, inequality and food insecurity from the ANSD's 2021/22 living-conditions survey (EHCVM II), and births, vaccination, child nutrition, health cover and school attendance from the 2023 Continuous Demographic and Health Survey (ANSD with ICF).
