What is Pakistan's GDP growth rate?
Pakistan's real GDP grew by a provisional 3.70% in fiscal year 2025-26 (July 2025 to June 2026), up from 3.18% in 2024-25, according to the Pakistan Economic Survey 2025-26 published by the Finance Division. Agriculture grew 2.89%, industry 3.51% and services 4.09%.
Growth is measured over Pakistan's July-to-June fiscal year at constant 2015-16 prices. The estimate is compiled by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics for the National Accounts Committee; it is provisional and is revised the following year when fuller data arrive. PBS also publishes quarterly national accounts tables.
How big is Pakistan's economy?
Pakistan's GDP at current market prices was Rs126,870 billion (about Rs126.9 trillion) in fiscal year 2025-26, up 11.3% from Rs114,039 billion in 2024-25, according to the Pakistan Economic Survey 2025-26. Per capita income was US$1,901, up from US$1,751.
The rupee figure includes price rises, so it grows faster than real GDP (3.70% in the same year). The dollar per capita figure depends on the exchange rate used as well as on output, so a stronger or weaker rupee moves it. The 2026-27 budget assumes nominal GDP of Rs143,604 billion, as shown in the Budget in Brief 2026-27.

The headline rate is the national CPI on base year 2015-16. PBS also publishes separate urban and rural indices, the weekly Sensitive Price Indicator (8.4% a year in September) and the wholesale price index (13.3%). The Finance Division's September 2026 economic update links the rise from about 3% a year earlier to higher global oil prices passing into fuel, transport and food costs.

The policy rate is the rate the central bank uses to steer short-term interest rates; bank lending and deposit rates follow it with a lag. The Economic Survey reports a weighted average lending rate of 11.45% and deposit rate of 4.61% at end-March 2026. Decisions and statements are published on the SBP monetary policy page, which blocked automated checks on 15 October 2026.
