How much crime is recorded in Guinea?
The Guinean judicial police recorded 1,915 thefts in 2024, down from 2,895 in 2022, according to Ministry of Security figures in the INS's 2024 statistical yearbook. It also recorded 1,144 cases of breach of trust, 571 frauds and 27 armed robberies.
The yearbook lists 6 murders recorded by the judicial police in 2024, but many categories are marked as not available for 2023 and 2024, so the figures cover only cases handled by this police department and are not a full count of crime. 474 committal warrants were issued in 2024.
How many people die on Guinea's roads?
213 people were killed in road accidents recorded by the police in Guinea in 2023, according to the INS's 2024 statistical yearbook, out of 2,021 accidents. 426 people were seriously injured and 496 slightly injured.
The numbers vary widely from year to year: 1,176 deaths were recorded in 2018 and 99 in 2022, when only 897 accidents were recorded. The figures come from the central road police directorate, so they count only accidents reported to the police. Conakry recorded 1,023 accidents in 2023.
