How much are rents rising in the UK?
The ONS Price Index of Private Rents is the official measure of rent changes for private tenants across the UK, published monthly with average rents and annual change by region and local authority.
It tracks rents across all tenancies, not just new lets, so it rises more slowly than advertised rents.
The latest figure
The newest value is at HM Land Registry with the ONS, Registers of Scotland and Land and Property Services Northern Ireland (UK House Price Index). More on it: UK average house price.
When is the next figure out?
Monthly, usually a Wednesday in the middle of the month, published with the ONS Private rent and house prices bulletin; figures cover the month two months earlier.
