What the Office for Statistics Regulation wrote

“As you know, the responses to our recent consultation on Futureproofing the Code of Practice for Statistics included a small number which expressed disagreement with the alternative release time (ART) for market sensitive economic statistics.”

“We have investigated the issues raised in the responses and discussed them with a representative of the SONIA futures market, the Bank of England, the Financial Conduct Authority and HM Treasury.”

“This should include consideration of the length of the period ahead of the publication of the statistics during which the data are shared with the devolved administrations for them to produce their own statistics.”

“To help us consider this one, we would welcome a response from the ONS setting out the outcome of its engagement with stakeholders by 1 October 2024.”
