Bilderberg Meeting (Bilderberg)

The Bilderberg Meeting is a private annual conference of politicians, business people and academics. Downing Street described it in 2013 as 'a private meeting' at which the Prime Minister could 'discuss global economic issues with senior ministers, business people and academics' (gov.uk). The Bilderberg Meetings website could not be read for this entry, so details of its founding, organisers and participants are not included.

The UK and the Bilderberg

In June 2013 the Prime Minister's spokesperson confirmed that the Prime Minister would attend the Bilderberg Group meeting in Watford, as an invited head of government, and would not make a speech (gov.uk press briefing, published 10 June 2013).
