Where can I find SQA exam results statistics?
Qualifications Scotland, which replaced the SQA as Scotland's awarding body, publishes provisional attainment statistics for National 5, Higher, Advanced Higher and other qualifications each August. The 2026 edition was published on 4 August 2026, with pass rates by subject, sex and type of centre, and tables by education authority.
The Scottish Government publishes a different measure: what school leavers achieved and where they went next, in its school education statistics. Those figures are used to track the attainment gap between pupils from the most and least deprived areas.
Entry-based pass rates and leaver-based attainment can move differently, so check which one a claim uses. Individual candidates get their own results directly, not from these statistics.
