Which MPs have second jobs, and where is the register of interests?

MPs must declare paid outside work in the Register of Members' Financial Interests, under "Employment and earnings", giving the payer, the amount and the hours worked. The same register lists donations, gifts and hospitality, overseas visits, property, shareholdings and family members employed. Each MP's entries are on their Parliament profile, and full editions can be downloaded from the register publications page.

Second jobs are allowed, but since 1 March 2023 the MPs' Code of Conduct has banned paid parliamentary advice, consultancy and strategy work, and paid lobbying was already banned. New interests must be registered within 28 days, and entries drop off twelve months after they end, so use older editions for history. Totals of "MPs with second jobs" depend on which categories are counted, so state the category and edition. The Lords keep a separate register.

When is the next figure out?

Hansard is published on every sitting day, with Commons debates normally online within a few hours and division lists soon after each vote. Written answers appear on the questions site once departments submit them, usually the same day. The Commons register of interests is updated regularly, roughly fortnightly when the House sits, and MPs must register new interests within 28 days. IPSA publishes MPs' business costs every two months, covering claims processed four to five months earlier, and announces MPs' pay for the year from April. Parliament's calendar shows sitting days and recess dates.

Every official release due in the next two weeks is on the release calendar.
