How do I find UK Supreme Court cases and judgments?
The UK Supreme Court's case pages list its cases since it opened in 2009, with a plain-English summary of the issue, hearing dates, the judgment, and a press summary. You can filter by status, such as cases awaiting judgment. Judgments are also on Find Case Law with a neutral citation like [2025] UKSC 1.
It is the final court of appeal for all UK civil cases and for criminal cases from England, Wales and Northern Ireland; most Scottish criminal appeals end at the High Court of Justiciary. The Constitutional Reform Act 2005 caps it at 12 full-time equivalent judges, called Justices.
The Court cannot strike down Acts of Parliament. For a ruling, quote the judgment itself rather than a summary of it.
