The ONS gives an annual CPI rate for tobacco (COICOP 02.2) for every year from 1989 to 2025: 37 years. In 2025 prices in this class were 7.7% higher on average than in 2024, against 3.4% for all CPI items. The highest yearly rate in the series is 14.4% in 1991; the lowest is 2.9% in 1989.
