The ONS gives an annual CPI rate for rail fares (COICOP 07.3.1) for every year from 1989 to 2025: 37 years. In 2025 prices in this class were 5.8% higher on average than in 2024, against 3.4% for all CPI items. The highest yearly rate in the series is 10.4% in 1991; the lowest is 0.1% in 2016.
