I have lived in Ibstock since 2018. My work experience centres around design and project management – for property fit-out and refurbishment. Over many years I worked for large organisations handling refurbishment projects but I now work for myself still handling retail and office fitouts and house renovation or remodelling projects on a freelance basis. I also work part time as the Clerk to two schools governing boards handling meetings and the needs of the Governing Boards.
I enjoy the theatre in all aspects. I have acted in and directed plays and opera, handled stage set design and performed with the local pantomime group which is a great deal of fun.
I joined the Parish Council in order to make a contribution to the Community – and try to ensure the interests of local people are listened to and acted on. I find working with the Council challenging and rewarding in many ways – and it keeps me in touch with the local activity.

My name is Andy Baxter and I've lived in Ibstock for just over two years and been a councillor since May 2025.
I'm married with a couple of grown up kids and am now retired after 40 odd years working in Engineering and Project Management. I began work in the early 80s in the North Warwickshire Coal fields and have also worked in the automotive sector and in Airports Engineering. My interests are local history, gardening and football and I'm a match day steward at a Premier League club. I give my time and volunteer as a Parish Councillor to try and give something back our local community. Sometimes we're not always aware of the things that go on around us and who makes them happen.
