There are 15 members who are re-elected every 4 years. There are 3 wards, Queensway, Kingsway & Market and Great Heath. Town Councillors Cllr. R Leaman Mayor / Great Heath Ward I have been a resident of Mildenhall for over twenty-five years now and decided to join the town council in July 2017, with the aim of making a positive contribution to the council and the wider community. Since then, I was honoured to have become Mayor of the Council in May 2024 and have chaired many of the other standing committees. My passion is community engagement and I have had the privilege of being lead organiser for Merry Mildenhall in recent years which has been a most rewarding experience. My family and I love our town as it offers so much to the community and it is very friendly and family orientated place. In spare time I love gardening, reading and DIY. F G Bristow Queensway Ward I came to Mildenhall as a probationary teacher at Mildenhall Secondary School in 1971. The school became Riverside Middle School in 1972 and I worked there for 33 years until I retired by which time I was Assistant Head Teacher. Consequently I know and am known by many local families. I was honoured, not to mention amazed, to receive an M.B.E. in 2006. The citation read "for service to education and the community". I strongly feel that as a Town Councillor, I am able to continue to serve that community. Telephone 01638 713967 Email grace.bristow@talktalk.net Cllr. Mobile 07855 808938 Email david.isted@mildenhall-tc.gov.uk Cllr. D Johnson Great Heath Ward Having been born in Newmarket hospital, I spent the first years of my life in Holywell Row until, in 1954, my family moved into the house I still occupy in Mildenhall. I attended St Mary's Primary School and the Secondary Modern before joining the RAF in 1967. After serving for 25 years, I retired from the RAF and spent 8 years working in Germany before moving back to Mildenhall employed as a Senior Executive Officer for the MOD in the NATO Intelligence Fusion Centre based at RAF Molesworth, retiring fully in 2015. I joined the Town Council in 2023 with the aim of giving something back to the community and attempting to ensure that the interests of that community are served in the best way possible. To that end I currently serve on the Establishment and Policy, Amenities and Operations and Planning Committees within the council and am also a member of the Mildenhall Twinning Committee. Email david.johnson@mildenhall-tc.gov.uk Cllr. D Manns Great Heath Ward I've lived in Mildenhall for 36-years, for 18 of these years I worked for FHDC as a senior manager responsible for the Councils corporate buildings and the housing stock. For 10-years, I was a member of Mildenhall Round Table where I got involved in arranging and running community events in Mildenhall to raise money for local charities. I like to make a difference in everything I do, so, having the honour and privilege of representing Great Heath on the Town Council gives me plenty of opportunity to do this for the wider community. J Power Great Heath Ward Email james.power@mildenhall-tc.gov.uk Cllr. G Roberts Great Heath Ward My background is in university teaching, technology start-up companies, and recently cleantech ventures. I have lived in Mildenhall for more than 10 years and have experienced its advantages and problems. Mildenhall is a young town, expanding and with a unique mix of countryside and armed forces - together this should give a lot of potential. I am interested in helping shape the development of the town. I would like to see growth and expansion of cleantech/agriculture enterprises to provide local growth and development of the relationship with the airbases to give a vibrant local center that can be enjoyed by all ages. On a personal note, I am the proud father of five adult children. One of my sons is disabled and lives at home so I have an interest in disability, access and education issues.
