After leaving full time education, Jonathan worked for Leicestershire County Council, where he studied accountancy. He then moved into the family business, Stirling Solutions Limited - an IT Software Company, specialising in providing computerised solutions to the Logistics industry – where today he is the Sales Director. In reality, he is practically running the business himself. When not working, you will find him supporting his beloved Leicester City football club. Having been supporting Leicester City since the early 1980's, it is fair to say that he is by no means a glory supporter! In his heart he will of course forever live in the 2015 / 2016 season. When time allows, he also enjoys attending the theatre and music concerts, and occasionally gets an opportunity to play eighteen holes at Longcliffe Golf Club. He and his wife Trena are popular and regular attendees and supporters of the many social functions in and around the village - the Village Hall (for which he is a representative of the Village Hall Committee), Wine Appreciation Society, Frisby Players and Frisby Live, to name just a few. Jonathan is quite the socialite! Jonathan's view is that now is the time for people to work together, to share their experience and knowledge of all that has gone before, and to provide guidance and support, to help shape the future for Frisby on the Wreake. He is very much looking forward to working closely with his fellow Councillors, and all residents within the village, to support Frisby on the Wreake and to ensure it continues to thrive as the beautiful and friendly village that it is. Jonathan lives with his wife Trena, and their children, Thomas and Emily. They have lived in Leicestershire all of their lives, and are proud to call Frisby on the Wreake their home. Councillor Nick Farrow Nick has lived in Leicestershire most of his life and was born in Melton Mowbray and moved to Frisby in 1985 He worked most of his working life in Senior Management positions within the Distribution and Logistics Industry and Mechanical Engineering divisions of British Road Services (now DHL) Allied Domecq Spirits and Wines. and finished his working career Assessing and Verifying portfolios for the Institute of The Motor Industry, The Institute of Road Transport Engineers and City and Guilds. In his leisure time he has been involved for many years in helping run a number of Junior football teams which his son Steven played for, he enjoys going to the theatre with his wife to see various shows and plays and live bands when time allows, he likes to take his Motorhome out to rural sites and club meets all around the UK. Nick has lived in Frisby for 38 years on Great Lane with his wife Anne and children John and Steven and has been an active member of the support staff for Frisby Players, Frisby Village Hall Committee and Frisby Live. Nick was previously an active Parish Councillor and helped with the setting up of the Neighbourhood Plan and various other projects that were MBC or Village led. Ruth Culbert Ruth moved to Frisby on the Wreake with her husband Pete, in January 2019 and they live on Oak Way Ruth lives with her husband of 36 years, together with their two dogs, Maisie and Monty and the cat called Bentley. They have two grown up children, Samantha and Stephen and two granddaughters, Chloe and Alysha Ruth started her working life in retail and studied for her Human Resource degree as a mature student with the full support of Pete and their two children, although we did have to buy a dishwasher, so they didn't have to wash up!! With her degree, she was able to move into management roles and guide and support employees and managers whilst training them in different aspects of business/management roles Ruth is now enjoying her retirement and is keen to repay some of the help and kind support they both received when they moved to the village. Ruth is treasurer to the Frisby on the Wreake Flower and Garden Club and enjoys participating in the range of social activities within the village. When Ruth moved to the village, to help with her integration, she decided to join an assortment of social clubs including The Frisby Players and The Wine Appreciation Society. Ruth also helped to run The Friendship Group for a year. This helped her to meet a range of people and to understand why there was such a good community spirit within the village. She also attended some Parish Council meetings to get a better understanding of what was happening within the village Ruth enjoys walking her dogs, art, gardening, reading and supporting the Leicester Tigers. She also enjoys watching most sporting activities including football and tennis and listening to music Ruth is keen to help maintain the close community spirit in Frisby by supporting others within the community Councillor Jackie Skinner Councillor Christina Swann Councillor Christina Swann Christina joined Frisby on the Wreake Parish Council with a genuine passion for supporting the local community and helping to preserve the unique character of the village for future generations. Although Christina and her family moved to the parish in 2025, their connection to Frisby on the Wreake goes back much further. Between them, their families have had ties to the village for more than 40 years, giving Christina a strong appreciation of its history, community spirit, and rural way of life. Married with a four-year-old daughter, Christina was particularly keen to move to the village so that her daughter could enjoy the same upbringing as her father. With her daughter due to start the village school in September, Christina is proud to see another generation become part of the local community and experience the benefits of village life. As a Parish Councillor, Christina is committed to representing residents' views, supporting local initiatives, and helping to ensure that Frisby on the Wreake remains a welcoming, vibrant, and thriving place to live. She believes that strong communities are built through engagement, collaboration, and a willingness to listen to the people they serve. Outside of her council responsibilities, Christina enjoys cooking and entertaining family and friends, often bringing people together around good food and conversation. She also loves travelling with her husband and daughter, embracing opportunities to experience new places, cultures, and adventures as a family. Christina is honoured to serve on the Parish Council and looks forward to contributing positively to the future of Fris Christina Swann Your other Local Elected Representatives The District Council Borough Councillor Ronan Browne The County Council County Councillor Joe Orson Home address: Parsonage House Paradise Lane Old Dalby Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire LE14 3NH Phone: 01664 822272 Mobile: 07950 298383 Bus. email: joe.orson@leics.gov.uk Member of Parliament Alicia Kearns https://www.aliciakearns.com/ Last updated: Mon, 13 Jul 2026 13:28 About The Council Button Councillors Tree Wardens Council Meetings Access to Information Documents Finance Fault Report Form Council Policies Frisby Burial Ground Contact Us Useful contacts Useful Links The Borough Council is Melton Borough Council .
