I have lived in the village since 1987 and have been involved in the local community for many years. Before retiring, I worked as a librarian in both school and public libraries, a role which I greatly enjoyed which gave me a good insight and knowledge of how local government operates and the challenges it faces. Other memners of my family also live in the village. I previously served on the Parish Council as a councillor and then as Chairperson, and recently was co-opted on to the Parish Council in October 2025. Cllr Ian RigaudBarrett – Vice Chairman
I became a member of the Parish Council shortly after moving to the Island in 2007 and have served continuously since then, including two terms as Chairman. During my business life, I had broad experience having first qualified as a Chartered Accountant in Southampton and subsequently in a variety of management and director positions. Cllr Colin Willis – Chairman
I moved to Rookley in 2005 and joined the parish council in 2011serving as councillor and chairperson until 2023. After a year away from the Parish council, due to increasing work commitments, I returned in 2024 and am currently serving as Chair. In my business life I worked in Information Technology for most of my career starting in technical roles and later in management roles working with a variety of companies and organisations often resulting in a considerable time away from home. Cllr Liz Wills
I have lived on the Isle of Wight for over 50 years, settling in Bembridge at first and moving to Rookley in 1995. My children were born and educated on the Island. We lived in Hong Kong for 8 of those years, but still maintained our home here and came back to the Island every summer. After returning to the Island (now with 4 children!) I began working at our local primary school. Since that time my working life was occupied in schools helping children with Special Educational Needs, including behavioural issues. I retired in 2013. I had joined Rookley Community Association shortly after moving here, and then also the Parish Council, and have remained active in both those areas...
