I spent 13 years as a Radar specialist and left as a non-commissioned officer. My second career was in a sales environment selling capital equipment for international companies such a Toyota and Mitsubishi. I launched my personal company selling high value projects around the Midlands and North West. These projects went from values of £20k to £1.3m. I retired in 2010 and have lived in the Swadlincote area for the last 25 years. I am a firm believer in democracy and that people should have the best representation possible at all levels of government. My aim is to help the Parish Council achieve that. Disclosure of Interests. Tony Beginn ( PDF , 1.4 Mb) Cllr. Camille Thouvenin Councillor Since March 2026 I work in international sales, managing key partnerships across Europe, so I spend a lot of time listening, problem-solving, and finding practical ways to make things work for everyone involved. In short, I'm used to juggling different perspectives and keeping things moving. Locally, I like to get involved where I can. I've organised charity quiz nights (competitive spirit welcome, cheating less so!) and I volunteer as a befriender through our local Charity Volunteering Services, supporting people who may feel isolated. As a parish councillor, I'm keen to help strengthen our sense of community, support initiatives that make a real difference day-to-day, and make sure residents feel heard. I believe in being approachable, pragmatic, and focused on getting things done, without unnecessary fuss. Outside of this, you'll usually find me walking, socialising, knitting, crafting, cooking, travelling, or trying to keep a healthy balance in life (with varying degrees of success…!)
