Susan writes: Monday May 20th, 2024 / in County Council / by admin_birchover Having lived at Stanton in Peak for many years, and still being very local, I am very familiar with Birchover and all the surrounding areas. As the Derbyshire County Council member for this area I try to visit all my Parish and Town Councils as often as I am able, as well as attending events in the area such as the Hub coffee mornings and Birchover Open Gardens. I feel that my role is to be a conduit from the first tier of local government – whether it be highways issues such as pot holes or the closed road at Stanton Lees, or liaison over Stanton Moor – and I am there to represent the views of the residents and businesses of the area. It is always best to initially email me about any issues on susan.hobson2@derbyshire.gov.uk, and please copy Birchover Parish Council in on any issues. I have an excellent relationship with the Chair, Clerk and other members of the Parish Council as well as my Derbyshire Dales District Councillor colleague Councillor Laura Mellstrom. I do have a small fund of money to share over my area and would be pleased to support Birchover in any specific projects they may have.
