Parish Councillors
Meet our Parish Councillors
I have lived in Wroughton for the last 18 years but have always been closely connected with the village and our children attended Ridgeway.
I was elected to the council in 2015 and have been chair since 2018. In that time I consider that the council is progressive, making the village such a welcoming and lovely place to live.
Cllr John Hewer - Chair
Call: 07860 499777
I have lived in Wroughton since 2014. Since moving to the village I have become involved in many village activities including the Wroughton History Group and I serve on the carnival Committee. I became a parish councillor in September 2022 as I wanted to help keep the village as a lovely place to live. I sit on several committees and help run the Monday Friendship Group.
Cllr Diane Archer - Vice Chair

I have lived in Wroughton for 28 years and regularly attend St Joseph’s Church.
I have been a member of the Parish Council for 7 years and joined to help improve and enhance Wroughton as a village. I sit on all Committees and the Carnival, Play Areas, Workshops, and Pathways Working Groups.
I enjoy reading, walking, and travelling.

Wroughton Library – What’s On In September
Wroughton & Wichelstowe Parish Council
Earlier this year (back when it was warm and sunny), we reported that the
Wiltshire Wildlife Trust
had been in Belmont Green installing special bat detectors.
They were intended to help the Trust get a better understanding of local bat movements.
Good news - the detectors show that there are healthy numbers of bats in Wroughton, including some rarer species. They are:
🦇 Barbastelle bats: a woodland species that the Trust is currently seeking additional funding to help protect. They are a rare and distinctive species, with a pug-like face and large, wide ears.
🦇 Lesser Horseshoe bats: one of the smallest British species, being around plum-sized and able to wrap its wings completely around its body while at rest. The Trust is seeking funding to track their movements across the wider landscape.
We're always keen to support initiatives that help our local wildlife.
A big thank you to the
Wiltshire Wildlife Trust
for their efforts around Wroughton.
