Richard is the Chairman of Woodbury Parish Council.
He sits on the Planning Committee and the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group.
Richard has ex-officio voting rights on all the committees.
He is ex Exeter City Council and has a wide knowledge of how councils run. A keen walker and Woodbury walker.

“I was born in Exeter and lived in Devon most of my life except for a short time in Coventry working for GEC.
Main career work for BT initially as an engineer and moving into management and taking early voluntary redundancy.
Spent two years working as a head of a department at Exeter college before becoming co-owner with my wife running a business in Topsham.
I’ve lived in East Devon since 2010 and Woodbury since 2018 and am pleased to have become a Parish Councillor to work with our Team and Residents to help maintain and improve our 3 picturesque villages and their environment.

“I moved to Exton with my husband Arthur in December 2018 from Torbay. I have 2 grown up children and twin granddaughters. I have always been actve in my son’s schools and been very involved with the PTAs in each of their schools in England, Sweden & Canada. I am currently on The Exton Events Committee as well as being on the Parish Council since March 2021. I am a registerd nurse and worked in the NHS as a pracice nurse before retiring in 2016. I have worked as an educator, training nurses and GP’s in the field of respiratory disease and as a nurse in both Sweden and Canada. I have always been keen to volunteer and help in the communities I have lived in. I was a volunteer with Rowcroft Hospice in Torbay and I have recently come out of retirement to support the Covid-19 Vaccination programme and regularly work at the Greendale Vaccination Centre.”
