Keith Pearson Chair of the Parish Keith has lived in Upton since 1985 and since retirement from a career with an international Oil Company has been totally involved in Community life in Upton As a Parish Councillor since 2002 and Chair for a number of years our Stroud District Councillor for 18years, Chair of the Village Hall Trust and until recently Chairman of the BMI Club. The village and its rural identity is at the forefront of his thinking and he feels this is more his home than anywhere he lived before. Cllr. David Hunt Vice Chair of the Parish I have had the pleasure of living in Upton for 53 years, with membership of the Parish Council for the past 30 years, including 6 years in the'chairman' role. Until recently I have co-ordinated management issues at our Recreation Ground on behalf of the Council. My home is in the centre of the village and I'm married to Jackie with two children, Matthew and Hannah. Retired in 2000, my final employment was as Head of Planning and Technical Services at Bromsgrove District Council, giving me a background and range of experience helpful in dealing with planning issues that may impact our Parish from time to time. Other voluntary work has included involvement as a founder member of the Jet Age Museum with over 20 years as a Trustee. I am currently Vice President of the Museum. The Museum tells the story of our aviation history in and around the site of the old 'Gloster' aircraft factory at Coopers Edge and is working with our Parish to celebrate this locally, within the new housing area. Cllr. Clifford Alderman Clifford has lived in Upton St Leonards for 20 years and in that time has been involved with the tennis club, the Village Show, and is currently the secretary on the Board of the Village magazine and a volunteer with the Footpaths' Group. Previously, he has been a School Governor at 3 different schools and a Cub Leader. He is married to Kathryn and has two adult children (which is an oxymoron because they are no longer children!). He has had a career in veterinary practice for over 40 years and still volunteers for Streetvet. Cliff hopes to serve the community by being an active member of the Parish Council. Cllr. Keith Ardron Keith Ardron has lived in Upton St Leonards for 40 years and has in the past served as Parish Councillor, Stroud District Councillor and Trustee of the Village Hall. He is currently a Trustee of the Lady Downe Trust. Keith is a retired Nuclear Engineer and University Lecturer and has two daughters who both grew up in the village and attended the school. Cllr. Jim Browne A retired Engineer and civil servant. Very active in the Parish, Village Hall Trustee, Photographer for the Parish Magazine and ex-Secretary of the BMI. Cllr. Dawn Chapple I have lived in Coopers Edge for just over eleven years, during which time the area has grown and developed. I recognise that there are still important issues to be resolved and new ones to be addressed. I spent over forty years working in Public Service in both health and education, locally and nationally. I have 4 adult children, all born in Cheltenham and educated in Gloucestershire. My husband and I are keen walkers and care deeply about the local environment, keeping it safe and tidy for everyone to appreciate including the wildlife. My husband is a frequent litter picker and can be seen 'wombling' around the estate at weekends and during our many dog walks. Representing Coopers Edge and its residents as a Parish Councillor will hopefully become a joint effort between myself and you the community. I am looking forward to hearing from you, enabling me to share with the Council what you value most as its residents. and give energy and support to those who would like to contribute to the ongoing development of this great community. Expand Full Bio Cllr. Chris Lester I am Married to Margaret we have 4 children and 6 grandchildren. We have lived in the village for 2 years but this is a homecoming after 23 years away. I am an electrical engineer now part time, giving me more time to walk our dog on the footpaths around the village. Cllr. Mary McLachlan I was born in the village and have lived here all my life. I am married to my husband Lachlan (Mac). I have been on the PC for several years now and am Allotment representative. I am also on two other committees in the village, BMI and Village Show. I very much love living in Upton, even though I have seen many changes over my lifetime it is and will always be a very special place to me. HOME. Cllr. Hilary Morris I have lived in Upton for over 40 years. I am interested in the village overall. We are lucky to have a lovely place to live and get very disappointed when people cause damage or disrespect what we have. The Glebe field holds an interest for me as we had a little dog who used to love to race around there with all her dog friends and hopefully we will soon have a new one who will be the same. It does upset me when dog owners fail to clear up after their four legged friend there and around the village. I hope to be able to continue as a Parish Councillor for a few more years.
