The City Council have had new bins installed at the riverside to help address the perennial littering problem. With the hot weather in the last few days, the riverside has been very popular and, unfortunately, littering has increased once more. Our policing team have been made aware of the problems and, no doubt, will be patrolling the area to deter anti-social behaviour. We have arranged for an immediate litter bin collection by our contractors. A team of litter-pickers will be working at hotspot areas tomorrow and Friday (21st and 22nd July) and we have arranged for skips to be in place to receive the rubbish they collect. As a community level council, we do our best, within our limited budget, to keep our green spaces beautiful for all to enjoy. The Council is always very grateful to so many community-minded people who litter pick voluntarily and support the Councillors’ efforts. We are particularly grateful to Co-Options Ltd, who have provided the litter-picking team for the next two days, free of charge, to support the Council. We know that most St Asaph residents take great pride in our Open Spaces and it is a shame that this is spoilt by a small number of individuals.
