We spent a couple of years looking for a suitable place for 'extended family living' with land & came to Shaugh Parish in 2019. So 8 of us now live in the 3 houses with horses, Alpacas & other animal friends. Very different from central Reading! I have always chosen to be involved in local community activity & at times also in a professional capacity. Since retiring I have continued that involvement firstly through extended debates with DCC over the dramatic increase in accidents on the B3417 (which I hope will soon be resolved), through my engagement with the developing neighbourhood plan and since Nov 25 as a Parish Cllr. I have enjoyed meeting many of you during the consultation process for the neighbourhood plan, while we hold a wide range of views it is also encouraging to see a lot of common themes emerging. Forgiving me for borrowing an old expression - but we are certainly 'stronger together'. So lets keep talking.
