I established and ran for 10 years a specialist plant nursery in East Sussex and my experience in horticulture may be of use in discussions relating to such issues. I take an active interest in local matters in both Rowhedge and Colchester and am presently Chair of the Friends of Castle Park and a member of the Colchester Civic Society. Councillor and Maxiene Cartwright Vice-Chair of the Finance committee Member of the Personnel Committee I moved to the village in the summer of 2019 & have loved every minute. I have been Trade Union member / Official for the past 36 years working predominantly on the equality side of things & being a disability lead which I could relate to having a hidden disability myself. Also included in my roles were health & safety & branch finances. This is my second term as a Parish Councillor & I’m still learning. It’s been an eye opener at times, but I’ve enjoyed engaging with residents in our beautiful village. I’m looking forward to continuing working with our fellow councillors in continuing to help make our beautiful village the best it can be. Councillor Sean Davis Chair of the personnel Committe Vice Chair of the Maintenance Committee My wife suggested we look at moving to a lovely village called Rowhedge. On our first visit, we decided that this was where we needed to live and so we moved here four and a half years ago. My surroundings have inspired me to think about my health and well-being. I have been able to go back to an enjoyment of running and cycling, and most recently kayaking, which fits in perfectly with the river and surrounding countryside. From these experiences, I have become even more aware of the village we are now part of. From socialising in the village, I have got to know many people and we have had many discussions which has led me to become actively involved by joining the parish council. Councillor Bob Dodson Chair of the Finance & Policy Committee Member of the Maintenance Committee Councillor Lisa Poynter Member of the Finance & Policy Committe Member of the Personnel Committee Councillor Steve Wilding Member of the Maintenance Committee Member of Finance & Personnel Commitee I was raised in Monkwick, two miles from Rowhedge. I worked for 40 plus years for Global commercial companies in Europe, the Amer icas and Asia. In 2021 I returned to Essex and fell in love with Rowhedge and its residents, particularly the medical practice and the Regatta. I chair the Patient Participation Group and am Treasurer of The Regatta Association. I am a firm believer in participation and management by objective. This village has a wealth of largely untapped talent. I value Rowhedge’s rogue traditions and abhor bureaucracy. Great things are possible when authority gets out of the way and lets people achieve. Councillor Duncan Wheeler Councillor Richard Keeble I am 74 years, lived in the village for nearly 30 years, retired gardener and landscaper, previous positions include Customer Service Manager, Sales Manager, Complaints Manager. Previously having served on EDPC as a councillor, vice chair and chairman.
