I’ve lived in Stilton since late 1982. Originally, I joined the Parish Council in around in 1998 and left in 2017 but was encouraged to re-join late in 2019. Over the years the Parish Council has changed dramatically, it is very different to council I joined. I have been married to Colin for lots of years now and we have daughter who lives in Suffolk. For many years we owed and ran Colbrook Specialists on the High Street, until retirement called. My interests are varied, I love cars, I enjoy reading murder and crime books (don’t judge me!). I am also interested in history and lose hours researching my family tree. Donald Bradman (the famous Australian cricketer) is my 3 rd cousin twice removed. I also enjoy listening to cricket via the Test Match Special team on the radio. Gardening is another of my interests and I do love a garden centre especially one with a good coffee shop! I am on the council because I love our village and want to be part of helping keep Stilton a wonderful place to live. One of the reasons I joined the Parish Council in 2024 was my desire to help protect the character and identity of our village as development continues to expand across the surrounding areas. I believe it is important that we retain what makes our village special while ensuring that it remains a welcoming and enjoyable place for existing and future residents. My aim is simple: to help protect our village, support our community and play my part in making it the best place it can be to live. Encouraged by a very enthusiastic Parish Clerk I was interested in the work of a councillor and how I could get involved in my new neighbourhood. After initially listening rather than talking, I became involved in the Cemetery Working Group and Green Spaces Working Group. In order to understand the finances I joined the Finance, General Purpose and Communications committee. I was pleased to assist the Clerk in obtaining the Bronze Local Council Award, demonstrating that the council has correct practices in place. I attended the monthly meetings for some time before deciding to join the council in 2026 and am looking forward to contributing rather than being a spectator! My interests include local history and genealogy. I enjoy attending the Stilton Heritage meetings. I have particular interest in the cemetery, the Church graveyard, the Pavilion and Village green spaces, so will be involved in the various working groups and committees. Member of: Amenities Management Committee (AMC) Finance, General Purpose and Communication Committee (FGPC) Cemetery Working Group Email: Registrable interest form - Fiona McCullough (PDF, 342.79 Kb) Terri Mitchell Councillor I have lived in the village for 35 years during which time I have developed the land opposite my house, recently acquired by the Parish Council, into what has become known as Mill Road Mini Nature Reserve. To continue and expand my involvement in the nature and green spaces in the village, in 2026 I decided to join the council. I hope to promote wildlife conservation in the village and encourage my fellow residents to embrace their beautiful surroundings. My other interests include sport boxing, weight lifting and psychology. Member of: Green Spaces Working Group Email: Registrable interest form - Terri Mitchell (PDF, 9.89 Mb) Philip Shailer Councillor I am a local area lad, born in Offord D’Arcy. I’ve lived in Graveley and Fenstanton finally moving to Worthington Close, Stilton with my wife Jackie in 1978. Our three children all attended Stilton Primary School and then secondary school in Sawtry. My working background is as a civil servant for the MOD from 1968 to my retirement in 2016. My hobbies include Lawn Bowls where I represented Fenstanton and 10 pin bowling where I played in a league. My main hobby since 1980 has been keeping and breeding owls and it continues to the present day. I also enjoy gardening. I have been an avid West Ham supporter for 63 years & am a current season ticket holder. My other passion is watching British Touring cars and attending meetings when time allows. Living in a village environment, especially one as nice as Stilton, its important to get involved and give something back to the place you are proud to call home. This is why I became a member of the Stilton Parish Council, to try and do the best for both the environment and residents, striving to make it a village everyone is happy to part of.
