{"analytics_identifier":null,"base_path":"/government/news/buffer-stop-collision-at-liverpool-street-station","content_id":"c2d3bc72-df6e-4b25-ae28-732d99d1f863","description":"Buffer stop collision at Liverpool Street station, London, 15 October 2026.","details":{"attachments":[],"body":"<div class=\"govspeak\"><p>At around 00:58 on 15 October 2026, an out-of-service passenger train collided with the buffer stop at platform 1 at Liverpool Street station, London.</p>\n\n<p>At the time of the collision the train was travelling at approximately 7 mph (11 km/h). The driver was taken to hospital following the accident but did not suffer any physical injuries. Damage was sustained by the train and the buffer stop as a result of the collision, and the first three vehicles of the train derailed.</p>\n\n<p>We have undertaken a <a href=\"https://www.gov.uk/guidance/raibs-response-to-accident-and-incident-notification#preliminary-examination\">preliminary examination</a> into the circumstances surrounding this accident. Having assessed the evidence which has been gathered to date, we have decided to publish a <a href=\"https://www.gov.uk/guidance/raibs-response-to-accident-and-incident-notification#how-raib-selects-accidents-to-investigate\">safety digest</a>.</p>\n\n<p>The safety digest will be made
